There really is no comforting answer to wheather subutex is safe or not during pregnancy. I was told various things by different doctors throughout the 9 months. I worried everyday that my son would suffer from NAS. I was anywhere from 4-8Mg a day. Not very much. He is currently still in special care due to NAS. This is day 10 now. This is by far the hardest thing ever. I begged the doctors to ween me off at the beginning of my pregnacy but was constantly advised against it. My suggestion is if you think you are strong enough to ween yourself in the beginning do it!! It gets dangerous after the first couple of months. Even then it can be risky. I wish I had. I went half way cold turkey and turned back. If you can't it's ok. Your baby will most likely be healthy other than the obvious and he or she will make it through withdrawals. You have to do whats right, safe and healthy for you too. My son is very healthy otherwise and I have not spent a night away from the hospital. It can take anywhere from 1 week to 2 months for the entire process. It breaks my heart. Every time I step foot in the hospital, I see another mother who delivered normaly (I also had a very bad birth experience)hapily taking home there new baby after 48 hours or less and it sinks my heart every time. i just tell myself I did the best I could and what I thought was right and I will be taking my beautiful son home soon. It will make that time all the more special.

Open Question: infant withdrawl treatment from subutex-how is it handled?

I am 33 weeks pregnant and on 16mg/day of subutex. This week I am cutting down to 12 mg/day and then 2 weeks before my due date to 8 mg/day to try to avoid my baby going through withdrawal. I was just wondering if anyone out there has experienced this and what their baby required medically and emotionally to recover from infant withdrawal from subutex. My doctor told me there is a 50 50 chance he will suffer from some sort of withdrawal so if anyone has gone through this please let me know how bad your child was suffering from it (mild-severe) and what treatment the hospital used to deal with it (couple days of extra observation, methadone treatment, etc.?). Also I am curious about breast feeding experience while on subutex as well so any info on that would be greatly appreciated as well

Resolved Question: Should I leave my husband?

My husband and I have been together, on and off since I was 13, I am now 24 and we have a 19 month old daughter. My husband has been battling a drug addiction for about 4-5 years now and although he has stopped using heroin, he is now injecting subutex. We have tried everything and spent around 70,000 dollars on rehab and he is still using. I'm not sure I love him anymore and dont want my daughter growing up with a junkie for a father. I dont trust him to babysit her and am finacially dependant on him, which is not going well. I dont know if I should try to separate from him, I feel sorry for him but my mental health is now at risk, any advice?

Resolved Question: please help, joining the USAF and i need a legal question answered. QUICK!?

i know i have faulted and have experimented with drugs such as marijuana, ecstasy, and subutex on occasion. none of which have been within the past 3-4 months, staying that way. but when confronted with that information the recruiter told me to vault it and never tell.good news; now bad news. However, i have two misdemeanors on my juvenile record, one of which is possession of cannabis in high school. i did the Community service hours for it so the task was annulled. Should i get my juvenile record expunged or tell the truth? or is that even worth worrying about? because i know that the USAF has the highest standards and qualifications that are necessary even for enlistees. help would greatly be appreciated. =/
