Resolved Question: why do I always fall asleep when I read?
May 25, 2008 By Leave a Comment
I have a real problem, whenever I am reading I drift off into sleep and awake a few seconds later. It is really frustrating because this happens all the time no matter where I am or what I am reading,.If I read about 2-3 lines I will suddenly wake up realising I drifted off again. This is really effecting my life because I love to read. I am able to force myself to stay awake but this takes all my concentration which makes it impossible to understand what I am reading.
I am an ex-addict (clean for nearly two years now) and I am prescribed 6mg of buprenorphen (subutex) per day. I have searched to see if this is a side effect but I cannot find any referance to this at all. People generally say that Buprenorphen actually keeps them awake, not put them to sleep. This is the only medication I am taking and my symptoms do coincide with when I first started to take this medication. how can I prevent this? Is there an alternative medication besides methadone? Anyone else got the same problem?
Voting Question: Recently my lips have been effected by minor sun exposure, which leaves a rash on and around the lip area.?

This has happened twice in the last 4 months and it has never happened in my whole life. After about an hour in the sun , my lips become itchy and red. Within a day it looks like I kissed a clown , as if I have smeared lipstick on my lips. They are incrediably itchy and annoying. There is no blisters just a red tender area that is around my lips. I am thinking that my medications might have something to do with making me sun sensitive however my face didn't even receive a slight sunburn. My medications are as follows. Conserta 36 mg 4 times a day , zoloft 100 mg 1 time a day , subutex 2 mg 2 times a day , coumadin 7.5 mg 1 time a day , and sometimes I will take tylenol pm to keep me from waking up in the middle of the night. Are these medications making this happen when I am exposed to sunlight for longer than an hour????

Resolved Question: Subutex Approval?
May 14, 2008 By Leave a Comment
For the past 5 years I have been a trial patient for subutex. Recently the drug was approved by heath Canada and I now am being made to pay for the drug. I do not have the money . My doctor is out of the drug and the pharmacies do not carry it. If anyone has an information on this drug and how to get it that would help.
